Fifty-year-old Šandor and Atila go fish poaching in Kopački rit. They quietly set up their nets and Atila stays to watch over them. Back home, Šandor is joined by Mirela. They talk about hard life in the outback, spend the night together, and dispassionately part ways in the morning. Šandor and Atila raise the nets and collect the fish. Šandor refuses to pay an agreed amount of money to Atila, who in turn acts violently and injures Šandor. Šandor sells the fish to impoverished villagers. Among them is a local pastor, to whom Šandor does not charge for the fish.
